Grammar explanation语法解释

We can use the prepositions in, on and at to say where things are. They go before nouns. 我们可以使用介词 in、on 和 at 来表示事物所在的位置。它们位于名词之前。

I am in the kitchen. 我在厨房。
My dog likes sleeping on the sofa. 我的狗喜欢睡在沙发上。
The children eat lunch at school. 孩子们在学校吃午餐。

in在

We use in to talk about a place that is inside a bigger space, such as a box, a house, a city or a country. 我们用 in 来谈论更大空间内的地方，例如盒子、房子、城市或国家。

The clothes are in the wardrobe. 衣服在衣柜里。
The children are playing in the park. 孩子们正在公园里玩耍。
There’s a bookshop in the shopping centre. 购物中心有一家书店。
My grandmother was born in Sweden. 我的祖母出生在瑞典。

We also use in with other physical locations such as: 我们使用 in 与其他物理位置一起使用，例如：

in water / the sea / a river / a lake / a pool 在水/海/河/湖/池

We use on to talk about location on a surface. 我们用 on 来谈论表面上的位置。

The books are on the desk. 书在桌子上。
We live on the fifth floor. 我们住在五楼。
There are pictures on the wall. 墙上有照片。
She likes to sit on the floor. 她喜欢坐在地板上。

We also use on for some types of public transport.我们还使用 on 来乘坐某些类型的公共交通工具。

He’s on the bus now. 他现在在公共汽车上。
You can’t make phone calls on a plane. 飞机上不能打电话。
They go to school on the train. 他们坐火车去学校。

We also use on for lines (including rivers, borders, streets, etc.) and islands.我们还用 on 来表示线条（包括河流、边界、街道等）和岛屿。

We use at in many common phrases, especially when we are talking about a place for a specific activity.我们在许多常用短语中使用 at，尤其是当我们谈论进行特定活动的地点时。

She’s working at home today. 她今天在家工作。

See you at the train station! 火车站见！
