Grammar explanation语法解释
We can use the present simple of the verb to be to talk about situations and states in the present. 我们可以使用动词的一般现在时来谈论现在的情况和状态。

Contractions缩写
We can contract the verb, especially when we’re speaking.我们可以缩写动词，尤其是当我们说话的时候。
I am a shop assistant. = I’m a shop assistant. 我是一名店员。 = 我是一名店员。
You are a good friend! = You’re a good friend! 你是一个好朋友！ = 你是个好朋友！
He is my wife’s brother. = He’s my wife’s brother. 他是我妻子的兄弟。 = 他是我妻子的兄弟。
We are very busy at the moment. = We’re very busy at the moment. 我们目前很忙。 = 我们现在很忙。
They are on holiday in Italy. = They’re on holiday in Italy. 他们在意大利度假。 = 他们正在意大利度假。
Negatives否定句
For negatives, use not after the verb. We can contract the verb or not.对于否定形式，请在动词后使用 not。我们可以收缩动词，也可以不收缩动词。
I am not at work. = I’m not at work. Note: I amn’t is not possible. 我不在工作。 = 我没在工作。注意：我不是不可能的。
She is not a student. = She’s not a student. = She isn’t a student. 她不是学生。 = 她不是学生。 = 她不是学生。
Money is not important. = Money‘s not* important. = Money isn’t important.* 钱并不重要。 = 钱不重要。 = 钱不重要。

Questions疑问句
For questions, change the order of am, is or are and the person.对于疑问句，请更改 am、is 或 are 和人称的顺序。

Note that with short answers, we only use contractions with no answers*.*请注意，对于简短的答案，我们仅使用缩写而不使用答案。
Questions with question words用疑问词提问
We can also make questions by using a question word like where, when, who or what. We put the question word at the beginning.我们还可以使用疑问词来提出问题，例如哪里、何时、谁或什么。我们把疑问词放在开头。
