Grammar explanation语法解释

Some verbs have a different meaning depending on whether they are followed by an -ing form or to + infinitive. 有些动词具有不同的含义，具体取决于它们后面是 -ing 形式还是 to + 不定式。

stop停止

Stop + -ing means the action is not happening any more.Stop + -ing 表示该操作不再发生。

I’ve stopped buying the newspaper because now I read the news online.我已经不再买报纸了，因为现在我在网上看新闻。

Stop + to + infinitive means that someone or something stops an activity so that they can do something else.Stop + to +不定式意味着某人或某事停止一项活动，以便他们可以做其他事情。

He stopped the video to ask the students some questions.他停止了视频，向学生们询问了一些问题。

try尝试

Try + -ing means that you are trying something as an experiment, especially as a possible solution to a problem, to see if it works or not.Try + -ing 意味着您正在尝试某件事作为实验，尤其是作为问题的可能解决方案，看看它是否有效。

Try + to + infinitive means that something is difficult but you are making an effort to do it. Try + to +不定式意味着某件事很困难，但你正在努力去做。

I’m trying to learn Japanese but it’s very difficult.我正在努力学习日语，但这非常困难。

remember/forget记住/忘记

Remember + -ing and forget + -ing refer to having (or not having) a memory of something in the past.Remember + -ing 和forget + -ing 指的是有（或没有）过去的某件事的记忆。

I remember watching this film before.我记得以前看过这部电影。
I’ll never forget meeting you for the first time in this café.我永远不会忘记在这家咖啡馆第一次见到你。

Remember + to + infinitive and forget + to + infinitive refer to recalling (or not recalling) that there is something we need to do before we do it.记住+ to +不定式和忘记+ to +不定式是指在我们做某件事之前回忆（或不回忆）我们需要做的事情。
